Subsequent to the colletion of these records, the River Garry was developed by the construction of dams and hydro power stations below Loch Quoich and Loch Garry.

The Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) subsequently opened a river flow gauging station on the River Garry at Craigard in 1997, approximately 3 km upstream of McClean's gauge, operated until 2011.
