Genome sequencing and assembly of multiple Xanthomonas cucurbitae isolates. Xanthomonas cucurbitae

Bacterial spot disease on cucurbit crops, caused by Xanthomonas cucurbitae, is a significant problem in cucurbit-growing areas worldwide. The purpose of this project was to characterize the genetic diversity of five representative isolates collected from pumpkin fields in the Midwestern US region in 2013. Whole-genome sequences were generated using long-read (i.e., Nanopore) and short-read (i.e., Illumina) sequencing technologies.
