This dataset contains Saccharification Index (SI) values from a randomized crossover dietary fiber intervention trial. The data supports Figure S5 in the supplementary materials of the manuscript titled "A personalized microbiota screening platform for optimizing individual volatile fatty acid production - A proof-of-concept study", submitted to the journal Microbiome. Study Design:- Randomized crossover trial with 8 healthy Japanese adults (aged 34-62 years)- Three phases per participant: Baseline (weeks 1-3), L-PDF intervention (weeks 4-6 or 7-9), M-PDF intervention (weeks 7-9 or 4-6)- Daily supplementation with 6g personalized dietary fiber during intervention phases- 9 fecal samples per participant (3 per phase) = 72 total longitudinal samples Data Collection:SI values were measured from in vitro fermentation of fecal microbiota samples collected across three study phases. Participants 1-3 were screened with 17 dietary fiber products; participants 4-8 were screened with 13 products (4 products were discontinued during the study). Each participant received personalized Most Prebiotic Dietary Fiber (M-PDF) and Least Prebiotic Dietary Fiber (L-PDF) based on individual MyDFF screening results.
