CONTRASTIVE DISCURSIVE ANALYSIS OF GENDER EXPRESSION ON UZBEK AND ENGLISH WEB PAGES

This article investigates gender expression in online news media through a contrastive discursive lens, analyzing Uzbek and English web pages. Using Kun.uz and BBC News as primary sources, the study explores linguistic and discursive strategies that construct gender roles and identities. The research examines lexical choices, syntactic patterns, and framing techniques, highlighting similarities and differences in gender representation across cultural and linguistic contexts. The study provides insights into cross-cultural media discourse and the role of language in shaping social perceptions of gender.本文采用对比话语视角，以乌兹别克语与英语网页为分析样本，探究网络新闻媒体中的性别表达议题。本研究以Kun.uz与英国广播公司新闻（BBC News）为核心数据源，探析用于构建性别角色与身份认同的语言及话语策略。研究考察了词汇选择、句法模式与框架手法，揭示跨文化及跨语言语境下性别表征的异同之处。本研究为跨文化媒体话语研究，以及语言在塑造社会性别认知中的作用提供了重要洞见。
