Tsetse flies of East Africa update

The dataset contains location data of preserved specimens in the icipe collection of the Tsetse flies of genus Glossina. Tsetse flies, correctly just Tsetse, are the insect vector for a number of disease, such as the Sleeping Sickness in humans or Surra and Nagana in cattle, antelopes, horses and others. The protozoan actually causing the disease is a species of Trypanosoma, causing a trypanosomiasis.

本数据集收录国际昆虫生理学与生态学中心（icipe）馆藏舌蝇属（Glossina）采采蝇保存标本的定位数据。采采蝇通常可直接简称为Tsetse，是多种疾病的昆虫传播媒介，其中包括人类昏睡病（Sleeping Sickness），以及牛、羚羊、马等动物的苏拉病（Surra）和纳加那病（Nagana）。真正引发此类疾病的原生动物为锥虫属（Trypanosoma）物种，可导致锥虫病（trypanosomiasis）。
