C57BL/6 and BALB/c mice were infected with Plasmodium P. berghei ANKA. Fecal samples were collected from the mice on days 0, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9 post infection. Amplification of the V4 region of 16S rDNA was performed with individual barcodes for each sample, followed by pooling and paired-end sequencing on Illumina Miseq.
