EU aquaculture annual emissions

This database was developed as part of the study commissioned by the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency CINEA and DG MARE, Specific Contract No. 03 Implementing CINEA/2022/OP/0014. The database shows annual emissions divided by country, species farmed, and production method. Moreover, emissions are divided by production step, from the hatchery stage to the harvest. Both finfish and non-fed aquaculture are included in the database. The two different versions of the database uploaded include CO2 equivalent emissions from the aquaculture sector in 26 EU countries (Belgium is excluded for insufficient aquaculture production) from 2005 to 2023.
