In previous work we have isolated two different microalgae of the genus Trebouxia (TR1 and TR9) that coexist in thalli of the lichen Ramalina farinacea. The absence of genomic information, and the interest of these algae as model organisms, prompted us to generate a survey of the genome of Trebouxia sp. TR9, using 454 sequencing technology.
