Assessing the seasonal dynamics of microbial communities and its influence on the biodegradation potential of organic pollutants in rivers

Here, we used the seasonal benthic sediment samples and chemical analytical data collected by Tian et al. (2024) to understand how seasonal shifts in microbial communities influence the biodegradation profile in rivers. Amplicon sequencing of the 16S and 18S rRNA barcodes were performed to profile the prokaryotic and eukaryotic microbial communities.
