NZAC Native Bees – Part 1

New Zealand is a country with relatively few native bee species. Most people are familiar with the ‘honeybee’ and ‘bumblebees’; species that have been purposefully introduced to improve the pollination of crops. However, New Zealand also has 27 species of native bees that are found nowhere else in the world. Join the Bee Expedition Team and help us document information for this important insect group. First up is Leioproctus imitatus, a widespread and abundant species commonly found on kanuka and manuka. This expedition of 98 tasks is fully transcribed and validated. This data resource is harvested periodically into the main occurrence index.

新西兰是本土蜂类物种相对匮乏的国家。多数民众熟知的蜜蜂（honeybee）与熊蜂（bumblebees），均为人为有意引入以提升农作物授粉效率的外来物种。然而，新西兰境内还分布着27种全球独有的本土蜂类。诚邀加入蜂类科考团队，协助我们记录这一重要昆虫类群的相关信息。本次科考的首个研究对象为拟亮膜蜂（Leioproctus imitatus），这是一种分布广泛、种群繁盛的物种，常栖息于卡努卡（kanuka）与麦卢卡（manuka）两种植物之上。本次包含98项任务的科考工作已完成全部转录与验证流程。该数据集将定期汇入核心物种发生数据索引库。
