The provided optimization scripts were used in the case study and creation of results, accompanying the publication: Optimal Energy Management of FC- Battery Shipboard Power System using Dynamic ProgrammingThe scripts are made public to act as supplementary data to the published article, recreation of results and to support other researchers for further developments in the field.The provided scripts implement a dynamic programming script for the offline optimization of the power dispatch in hydrogen-based ship power systems with multiple fuel cell systems. Total operating costs are minimized, and scripts for estimating hydrogen consumption and cell degradation costs are included. The algorithm is implemented highly efficiently to allow future implementation in multi-timescale controllers for mission-scale optimization.The plant and controllers simulate the ship operation over an externally provided load profile and computes each component's power output over time.The system and controller parameters can be adjusted in the provided scripts to evaluate the performance of different strategies and settings.
