Hydrocarbon cycling inTokamachi mud volcano, Japan

The isotopologue indicators (carbon and hydrogen isotopologue in hydrocarbons) that we use are relatively recent, we seek to validate the interpretation made from isotopologue measurements with information on microorganisms potentially living in the subsurface. We thus couple our isotopologue approaches with metagenomic approaches, i.e., 16S rRNA analysis, to confront the interpretation obtained by isotopologue analysis.
