Demographic life course; gender and birth generations (1940 to 1990)

The figures in the table refer to people from the birth generations 1940 to 1990 who lived in the Netherlands in 2003, 2008 or 2013. For each generation of birth, men and women have calculated which part of the population has experienced a certain (social) demographic event during the course of life. This table shows what events people have experienced at a certain age (aged 20 to 65 years) and to what extent this differs between birth generations. Data available for birth generations from 1940 to 1990. Status of the figures: All figures in the table are final. Changes as of 6 December 2018: The underlying encodings of the ‘age group’ classification used in this table have been adjusted. These are now better in line with the standard codes laid down by CBS. The structure and data of the table have not been adjusted. When will there be new figures?
