Banishment of deputies from the National Convention who voted for the death of King Louis XVI (1816)

Article 7 of the law of 12 January 1816, known as the “Law of Regicidals”, orders the banning of France for life of the deputies who voted for the death of King Louis XVI in 1793 and who supported Napoleon I during the Hundred Days. The Ministry of Police then asked the prefects of the department to investigate the registrar’s deputies and their relatives. The National Archives thus retains nearly 500 small individual files, the list of which is the subject of this dataset.
