Hydrants for fire-extinguishing purposes

The water supply association Perlenbach (www.wasserwerk-perlenbach.de) in the Eifel operates the Wasserwerk Perlenbach (WWP) and supplies approximately 18,500 households with drinking water. The supply area is approximately 400 km² and comprises the following municipalities, respectively parts of the municipalities Hürtgenwald, Kreuzau, Monschau, Nideggen, Roetgen, Simmerath and Heimbach. According to the Feuerschutzhilfeleistungsgesetz Nordrhein-Westfalen (fshg NRW), the member municipalities are responsible for local fire protection.
