These data were collected during the mesocosm experiment described in "Keystone nonconsumptive effects within a diverse predator community" by Meadows et al. 2017. A description of each column follows: 1- Source: treatment groups; 2- Exposure: C=caged mosquito larvae, NC= exposed mosquito larvae; 3- Sex: sex could only be determined for (most) adult mosquitoes; 4-Tp: days to pupation i.e. larval development period; 5- Longevity: adult mosquito longevity (eclosion-death, in days); 6- Density: total number of predators in mesocosm; 7- Aquarius: number of Aquarius in mesocosm; 8- Beetle: number of Agabus + Tropisternus beetles in mesocosm; 9- Notonecta: number of Notonecta in mesocosm; 10- Aeshna: was Aeshna present in the community? Yes or No for predator treatments, Control if no predator (or Aeshna, by extension); 11-H: Shannon's H calculation for predator community evenness (99 entered for control to easily subset predator only treatments); 12- Cslong: sex-standardized adult longevity (see Meadows et al. Supp Info for calculation); 13- Winglength: adult winglength (in mm)
本数据集采集自Meadows等人2017年发表于《多样捕食者群落内的关键种非消耗效应》(原英文标题:Keystone nonconsumptive effects within a diverse predator community)的中型实验围隔(mesocosm)实验。各字段的详细说明如下: 1. 来源(Source):实验处理组; 2. 暴露处理(Exposure):C代表笼养蚊幼虫,NC代表暴露蚊幼虫; 3. 性别(Sex):仅可对多数成虫蚊虫完成性别鉴定; 4. 化蛹时长(Tp):即幼虫发育周期,单位为天; 5. 成虫寿命(Longevity):成虫蚊虫从羽化至死亡的存活时长,单位为天; 6. 捕食者总密度(Density):中型围隔内捕食者的总个体数; 7. 黾蝽属(Aquarius)数量:中型围隔内Aquarius的个体数量; 8. 甲虫类捕食者数量(Beetle):中型围隔内Agabus(龙虱属)与Tropisternus(筒形水龟甲属)甲虫的总个体数; 9. 仰泳蝽属(Notonecta)数量:中型围隔内Notonecta的个体数量; 10. 蜓属(Aeshna)存在情况:群落中是否存在Aeshna?捕食者处理组填写“是”或“否”,无捕食者(或无Aeshna,类推)的对照组填写“对照(Control)”; 11. 香农-威纳均匀度指数(Shannon's H):捕食者群落均匀度的Shannon's H计算值,对照组统一赋值为99,以方便筛选仅包含捕食者的处理组; 12. 性别标准化成虫寿命(Cslong):经性别标准化处理的成虫寿命,计算方法详见Meadows等人的补充材料; 13. 成虫翅长(Winglength):成虫蚊虫的翅长,单位为毫米(mm)
