POLLEN ANALYSIS OF SAMPLES FROM A SOIL PROFILE AT THE INDIAN CREEK SPRING SITE (24LC0099), LEWIS AND CLARK COUNTY, MONTANA

The Indian Creek Spring site (24LC0099) is a prehistoric short-term occupation site located at the head of Indian Creek in Helena National Forest, Montana. The site surrounds a spring and extends along the bottom and up the adjacent benches bordering Indian Creek. A modern Forest Service road, along with features and trails associated with cattle ranching, have impacted the site. Excavations have recovered hundreds of flakes, three projectile points, and two scrapers. Soil samples collected from a profile exposed in Test Unit 1-2013 were submitted for pollen analysis.

印第安溪泉遗址（Indian Creek Spring Site, 24LC0099）是一处史前短期居留遗址，坐落于美国蒙大拿州海伦娜国家森林内的印第安溪源头地带。该遗址以一处泉眼为核心，沿印第安溪沿岸谷底及相邻阶地向上延伸。一条现代林务局道路，连同与养牛业相关的遗迹与步道，已对该遗址造成了干扰。考古发掘共出土数百件石片（flakes）、3件投射尖状器（projectile points）以及2件刮削器（scrapers）。从2013年探方1（Test Unit 1-2013）揭露的剖面中采集的土壤样本，已被提交用于孢粉分析（pollen analysis）。
