Configuration Files for ParaText: SHACL and Display Rules for Semantic Data Management Using HERITRACE

This Zenodo record provides the configuration files used in the ParaText project, a digital initiative developed by the University of Bologna to manage bibliographic metadata for textual resources. These files were created using HERITRACE, a user-friendly semantic data editor designed for galleries, libraries, archives, and museums (GLAM). HERITRACE simplifies the curation of RDF-based data while preserving semantic integrity, enabling non-technical domain experts to manage and enrich metadata intuitively. The system natively supports provenance management and change tracking, ensuring transparency and accountability throughout the curation process.

The record includes two key configuration files tailored for the ParaText project:

SHACL (Shapes Constraint Language) File: Defines the data model for ParaText, specifying classes, properties, and constraints for each entity type. This ensures data consistency and integrity across the dataset, allowing for real-time validation and customization of the data structure.

Display Rules File: Controls the visual presentation of data in ParaText, enabling administrators to define user-friendly labels, decide which fields to display, and specify how properties should be represented. This file also supports dynamic SPARQL queries to transform URIs into intuitive bibliographic descriptions, enhancing usability for domain experts.
