Funerary spirit

The sinuous movement of the body and head position of Rodin's Funerary Spirit is reminiscent of falling youth on the metope. Rodin first exhibited this sculpture without arms in Brussels in 1899. In 1900 he showed funerary spirit in his Pavillon de l'Alma during the Universal Exhibition in Paris, placing it on a tall column with the left arm behind the head.罗丹《死亡精灵（Funerary Spirit）》的躯体与头部姿态所呈现出的蜿蜒动感，令人联想到壁饰浮雕上坠落的青年形象。1899年，罗丹首次在布鲁塞尔展出了这件无臂雕塑。1900年，他在巴黎世界博览会期间，于其阿尔玛馆（Pavillon de l'Alma）中展出该作品，将其安置在一根高大的立柱之上，左臂置于脑后。
