Liver pathologies are associated with an imbalance in intestinal microbiota. Modifying the microbiota through nutritional interventions is the primary approach to mitigating the disease. However, the interaction between diet and intestinal microbiota in regulating the progression of liver disease is not fully understood. In this study, our aim was to characterize the intestinal microbiota (IM) of a group of cirrhotic patients and correlate it with their dietary intake.
