资源简介:
Background: The present study focus on occasional drug users and non-drug users. Occasional drug use means using any substance once or twice a week. Aim: The study investigates the psycho-social factors and psychological adjustment of occasional drug use among adolescents and compares occasional drug users and non-drug users. Method: The study recruited 346 participants (43.35% were occasional drug users and 56.64% were non-drug users) aged 14-22. The Adult Parental Acceptance Rejection Mother and Father Form, Peer Pressure Questionnaire, and Adult Personality Assessment Questionnaire were used. Results indicated that 76.2% of males and 23.8% of females were occasional drug users. The results revealed that father rejection, peer pressure, and psychological maladjustment were found significantly among occasional drug users, whereas mother rejection was non-significant for occasional drug users. The binary logistic regression indicated that father rejection, peer pressure, and psychological maladjustment predict an increase in occasional drug use. Conclusion: It was concluded that father rejection, peer pressure, and psychological maladjustment are vital factors of occasional drug use.
