BAT003 - Batta - Conversational questionnaire (Dialogue A, 'We're going fishing')

This dataset contains dialogues elicited using the Conversational Questionnaire method (Francois 2019, 'A proposal for conversational questionnaires') from Batta with Martina Kapisa (born 1965), a native speaker of Batta. The dialogue was Dialogue A ('We're going fishing'). The session was recorded on 9 December 2019, in Yenenas village (Batanta island, Raja Ampat regency, Southwest Papua province, Indonesia). This dataset relates to the British Academy Postdoctoral Fellowship 'Synchronic and diachronic investigations in Raja Ampat-South Halmahera, a little-known subbranch of Austronesian' (PF19@004); additional fieldwork funds were provided by a Moray Endowment Grant from the University of Edinburgh.
