Neglected individual trees in hyper-arid areas are disappearing at an accelerated rate

Taking northern Saudi Arabia as a case study, we generated individual tree crown maps spanning the period from 2017 to 2024. This approach enables accurate monitoring of the growth and mortality rates of individual trees.
