Number and mass of bentos in the Baltic Sea and Gulf of Riga

Number of bentosa, mass and taxonomic composition in the territorial sea waters of Latvia, determined within the scope of the Water Status Monitoring Programme of the Latvian State Environmental Monitoring Programme. Samples were collected and analysed according to the recommendations of HELCOM COMBINE. The data shall be applicable to the qualitative descriptors D1 and D4 for the determination of good environmental status of the Marine Strategy Framework Directive 2008/56/EC drawn up by the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union. Abundance, mass and taxonomic composition of benthos from the Latvian waters, Baltic Sea. Samples collected and analysed according to HELCOM COMBINE recommendations. The data are characterising Descriptors D1 and D4 of the Marine Strategy Framework Directive 2008/56/EC.本数据集涵盖拉脱维亚国家环境监测计划水体状况监测框架下，测定的拉脱维亚领海水域底栖生物（benthos）的丰度、生物量与分类组成。样品采集与分析工作均依照波罗的海海洋环境保护委员会（HELCOM）COMBINE规程的建议开展。该数据可用于支撑欧盟议会与欧盟理事会制定的《海洋战略框架指令（Marine Strategy Framework Directive 2008/56/EC）》中优良海洋环境状态的判定，对应定性描述指标D1与D4。 波罗的海拉脱维亚海域底栖生物的丰度、生物量与分类组成数据，样品采集与分析均遵循HELCOM COMBINE规程的建议，该数据用于表征《海洋战略框架指令2008/56/EC》中的指标D1与D4。
