National Register Monumental Trees WMS

This map shows special trees, which are included in the National Register of Monumental Trees of the Tree Foundation. This register contains trees that are of national importance according to the Tree Foundation. In many cases these are trees of old age, with a special beauty or rarity value, or an image-determining function for the environment. This does not mean that the trees are also ‘monument’ in the context of the Heritage Act. However, they can be in a protected context, for example on a protected lane or on an outdoor location. In collaboration with the Tree Foundation, the RCE has put the trees and tree groups on the map. The potentially monumental trees and the extinct trees have been deliberately excluded from the selection. From the map you can directly link to the digital register for each tree. The RCE only makes the card available as a view service.
