Districts of Nepal- Indicators of Development

The study was carried out by ICIMOD at the request of SNV-Nepal with
the main objective to identify the districts which deserve the
foremost attention in development assistance. The 75 districts of
Nepal are ranked according to their level of development
performance. Secondary data such as national census and national level
surveys at the district level are used for the analysis. The districts
are ranked based on the 39 basic indicators which are further
aggregated into four basic indicators, namely, poverty and
deprivation, socioeconomic and infrastructural development, women's
empowerment, and natural resources endowment and management.
