Census 2001 — Families

The dataset contains data from the 14th General Census of the population related to households. A family is defined as a group of persons linked by marriage, kinship, affinity, adoption, protection or emotional, cohabiting and habitual residence in the same municipality (even if they are not yet registered in the registry of the resident population of the same municipality). A family can be made up of only one person. The temporary absentee does not cease to belong to his family whether he is in another accommodation (or cohabitation) of the same municipality, whether he is in another Italian municipality or abroad. The definition of family adopted for the census is that contained in the personal data regulation.
