Antefix at The Guimet Museum, Paris

This Antefix[a] originates from the Royal Palace of Angkor Thom in Cambodia, in the district and province of Siemreap. It was created in the style of the Khleang[b] in the last quarter of the 10th Century or beginning of the 11th. [a] An antefix is a vertical decorative block used to hide the end of a run of roof tiles, now also used as general ornamentation. This isn't to be confused with a caryatid which would be a decorative (usually in the shape of a human) block to support a building. [b] The Khleangs are two famous buildings of an unknown purpose on the east side of the Royal Square in Angkor Thom, Cambodia. The Khleang style is characterised by relatively simple lintels with a central kala (god of time) monument. This object is part of Scan The World.
