Quality controlled, reliable groundwater level data with corresponding specific yield over India

This repository contains quality-controlled groundwater level data from 32,299 wells across India, processed to identify a subset of 2,759 reliable wells suitable for long-term spatiotemporal analysis. The data spans multiple seasons and years, with preprocessing steps including removal of missing/negative values, outlier filtering using the three-sigma method, and consistency checks (e.g., minimum two readings per year and avoidance of repeated values).In addition, the dataset includes specific yield estimates for each reliable well, derived using k-means clustering of aquifer types and a hydrogeological map of India. The provided scripts enable users to reproduce the data processing steps and perform further analysis, including comparison with satellite-based (e.g., GRACE) or model-based groundwater storage estimates.<br>
