Statuette of a seated woman

This statuette of a seated woman, carved from Island marble, was found in Sounion. It probably represents a goddess of nymph. It belongs to the pedimental decoration of the temple of Poseidon at Sounion. Created around 440-430 BC这件以岛屿大理石雕刻而成的坐姿女性小雕像出土于苏尼翁（Sounion）。其形象大概率为宁芙女神，属于苏尼翁波塞冬神庙的山墙装饰构件，创作年代约为公元前440年至公元前430年。
