IODP Expedition 359 Thin section images

Hard rock and sediment thin section images were acquired using either the JRSO-developed Petrographic Image Capture and Archival Tool (PICAT) imager or (rarely) an upright microscope and a digital camera. Sample images are acquired in unpolarized, polarized, and/or cross-polarized light. Image files are presented compressed by hole.硬岩与沉积岩薄片图像的采集可采用两类设备：一类为JRSO研发的岩相图像捕获与存档成像仪（Petrographic Image Capture and Archival Tool，简称PICAT），极少数情况下使用正置显微镜搭配数码相机。样本图像的采集涵盖非偏振光、偏振光及正交偏振光三种照明模式。图像文件以按钻孔分组压缩的形式提供。
