Rijksmuseum API

The Rijksmuseum API (Application Programming Interface) is a service provided by the Rijksmuseum for partners and application developers. You can request an API key, which gives you access to the structured metadata (OAI_DC) and images of the Rijksmuseum collection. You can use this metadata and images to develop apps or web applications or to enrich your own collection. Developers automatically gain access to the Rijksmuseum’s basic collection, more than 100,000 objects. Including the Night Watch! Digital images of all objects are available. Specific sets/topics can be provided upon request. The datasets in the API come from the Rijksmuseum’s collection registration system. All information is updated and updated daily. If new or better imagery of objects becomes available, it is also made available via the API. The data of the National Museum is available under the Creative Commons BY attribution. This means that the data is reusable on the basis of attribution.
