The Phytoplankton Ecology of Wilson Inlet, Western Australia - Nitrogen Uptake

The phytoplankton uptake rates of ammonium, nitrate and urea on monthly, seasonal and annual time scales in Wilson Inlet were measured.

In addition, it was determined whether phytoplankton community in Wilson Inlet was preferentially using a particular form of nitrogen and whether the ambient concentration of ammonium, nitrate or urea was limiting to phytoplankton biomass production.

本研究测定了威尔逊入口（Wilson Inlet）在月、季及年时间尺度下，浮游植物对铵盐（ammonium）、硝酸盐（nitrate）与尿素（urea）的摄取速率。
此外，本研究还明确了威尔逊入口的浮游植物群落是否优先利用某一形态的氮源，以及铵盐、硝酸盐或尿素的环境浓度是否对浮游植物生物量生产存在限制作用。
