Geochemical analyses of marine tephra layers collected offshore Ecuador during the DSDP Leg 69 and ODP Legs 111 and 202

Marine sediment cores collected during the DSDP and ODP oceanographic campaigns 69, 111, and 202 reveal numerous ash deposits, which are related to major volcanic eruptions that occurred in Southern America and the Galápagos archipelago during the last 10 Myr. We provide geochemical analyses (major and trace elements, Sr-Pb isotopy) of these ash layers to characterize the composition of magmas and identify the associated volcanic vent.
