Physiological status of tsetse mothers and offspring at larviposition

The set consists of the physiological attributes of female tsetse Glossina pallidipes and the larva that they have just produced, or are just about to produce. For the mothers data are provide on the results of ovarian dissections carried out on the flies – including the sizes of the two largest oocytes in the paired ovaries, and the contents and size of the uterus. The length and degree of fray of the wings are also measured and used with the ovarian dissection information to assess the ovarian and chronological ages of the fly. The dry weight, fat free dry weight and haematin contents of thorax and abdomen for the adult females is also given. For the pupae the dry weight and fat-free dry weight are provided. Various meteorological data are also produced. The Stata data set has a key identifying each of the variables.
