H7.3.fasta - Cyanobacterial genomes of isolates cultivated from lithic habitats of Eastern Antarctica

Here we isolated, cultivated and sequenced four novel cyanobacterial strains recovered from lithic substrates in Eastern Antarctica. Three of the genomes originate from quartz hypoliths (designated with H) while the other is from a sandstone endolith (designated with E). Cultures were grown in BG-11 media until sufficient biomass was generated for DNA extraction. Their genomic data files (.fasta) were assembled from Illumina MiSeq data.
