A Scoping Analysis of Literature on the Enhancement of Security in Financial Message Systems.

The security of financial messaging systems is critical to safeguarding sensitive information and maintaining user trust in digital financial platforms. Despite advances in cryptographic techniques, existing systems remain vulnerable to channel-based and cryptographic attacks, including eavesdropping, tampering, and unauthorized access. Hybrid cryptographic models combining asymmetric and symmetric encryption have emerged as promising solutions to enhance confidentiality, integrity, and authenticity in message transmission. This scoping review systematically examines literature published between 2015 and 2025 to map current knowledge on user vulnerabilities in financial messaging systems and the role of hybrid cryptographic models in mitigating these risks. Guided by the PRISMA-ScR framework, 44 relevant studies were identified from nine scholarly databases and supplementary sources.
