CSU SCSMEX Sounding Data. Version 1.0

This dataset contains sounding data collected during the South China Sea Monsoon Experiment (SCSMEX) in May and June of 1998. In all, there were 162 sounding sites with 23,042 soundings available during this period. High vertical resolution data is included from the R/V Kexue and R/V Shiyan 3 ship sites and GTS mandatory and significant level data is included from the remaining sites. Additionally, a FORTRAN program for reading the upper-air sounding data files is included. Please see the provided readme_SCSMEX file for more information.

本数据集收录了1998年5月至6月南海季风试验（South China Sea Monsoon Experiment, SCSMEX）期间采集的探空数据。本次试验共设置162个探空站点，该时段内累计可获取23042组探空记录。其中，科学号（R/V Kexue）与实验3号（R/V Shiyan 3）两艘科考船舶站点提供了高垂直分辨率探空数据；其余站点的探空资料则源自全球电信系统（Global Telecommunication System, GTS）的强制观测层与显著层观测数据。此外，本数据集还附带了用于读取高空探空数据文件的FORTRAN程序。如需了解更多细节，请参阅随附的readme_SCSMEX文件。
