A liquefiable 6 inch layer of Ottawa F60 was placed in the rigid container at a relative density of 53%. An embankment consisting of steel plates were placed on top of the model. The embankment had a height of 1.5" and a length of 4.5" with a total weight of 15 pounds. The model was spun up to 30 g's and shaken with the 1960 Chile Earthquake. The liquefaction, along with soil failure due to the embankment was observed in the model. Frozen core samples were taken from the model.
