Genome Analyis and Isolation of new hexapeptides

We report the targeted isolation of five novel demiguisin derivatives, characterized by two Piz-moieties with different hydroxylation patterns, and glycine truncation. Biological evaluation against a panel of Gram-positive, Gram-negative, and mycobacterial strains revealed selective antimycobacterial activity, with two congeners displaying potent activity against Mycobacterium intracellulare (in rare cases, can cause contagious tuberculosis-like infections in birds) and moderate activity against Mycobacterium tuberculosis
