Optical polarization curve of the transitional millisecond pulsar PSR J1023+0038 during an X-ray flaring mode.
收藏资源简介:
This data collection contains an optical polarimetric curve obtained with FORS2 at the Very Large Telescope in the R_special band for PSR J1023+0038, the prototype of the transitional millisecond pulsar class.Simultaneous observations were also performed with the IXPE X-ray polarimeter and the VLA in the radio band. The data reveal a clear anti-correlation between polarization and flux across all frequencies, with polarization decreasing as flux increases. This behavior is associated with powerful multi-band flares, enabling us to demonstrate that the origin of the flaring activity is linked to an unpolarized process, most likely due to ejections.
本数据集包含利用甚大望远镜(Very Large Telescope)搭载的FORS2(Focal Reducer and Low Dispersion Spectrograph 2)设备,在R_special波段为过渡毫秒脉冲星类的原型天体PSR J1023+0038获取的光学偏振曲线。同时还利用IXPE(Imaging X-ray Polarimetry Explorer)X射线偏振仪以及甚大阵(VLA, Very Large Array)在射电波段完成了同步观测。
