Complete mitochondrial genome of Cardisoma crassum collected in Ecuador

In this study, we generated and analyzed the complete mitochondrial genome of the land crab Cardisoma crassum, a species distributed along tropical coasts of the eastern Pacific. A single adult crab was collected, and muscle tissue was preserved and processed to obtain high-quality DNA. Using Illumina sequencing, we produced more than 49 million reads, which allowed us to assemble the entire mitochondrial genome as a circular molecule of 15,587 base pairs.
