Processed plasma proteomics and cognitive outcomes from a randomized exercise intervention in healthy older adults

This repository contains the processed data associated with the manuscript: "Common and distinct plasma proteomic signature of aerobic and motor physical activity interventions and their link to episodic memory". The study is an exploratory secondary analysis of a randomized controlled trial investigating the effects of a 12-week intervention on inflammatory-related plasma proteins and cognitive performance in 34 healthy, physically inactive older adults. Participants were randomly assigned to one of three intervention groups: Aerobic Exercise (AE) Gross Motor Abilities (GMA) Cognitive Training (COG) Inflammation-focused plasma proteomics was performed using the Olink® Explorer 384 Inflammation panel. After quality control, 356 proteins were retained for downstream analyses. This repository includes the following files: protein_data_clean.csv (demographical data, physical and cognitive outcomes and processed olink NPX data after QC, pre- and post-intervention) protein_delta.csv (previous metadata, delta NPX values) protein_info.csv (Limit of Detection values for all the 356 proteins) The dataset has been fully de-identified. Variables that could directly identify participants have been removed.
