Water Distribution Networks (WDNs) and Sewer Networks are critical and complex infrastructures that are prone to failures and operational challenges for meeting desired quality of service. The ability to efficiently operate these networks and to detect faults quickly is largely affected by the quality and availability of data used for model development, calibration and decision-making process. At the same time, there is a strong transition towards digitalization of urban water infrastructures for efficient monitoring and billing purposes. Both WDNs and sewer networks being a part of critical infrastructure, datasets used for analyses are often restricted and hence makes it difficult for practitioners and researchers to evaluate their models. Our team has therefore made efforts focusing on the applicability of Smart Water Meter (SWM) data for modelling and analyses of WDNs as well as flow sensors for monitoring Infiltration and Inflow into Sewer networks. The SWM data was recorded for a period of one month using experimental water meters and sewer flow data was recorded for 1.5 years.
