Photovoltaic capacity deployment in Switzerland: An econometric analysis using an Instrumental Variable approach

This dataset was created as a part of the course "Spatial methods for economists using Python" of the University of Bern for the Fall Semester 2024. The dataset contains raw geospatial data on installed PV capacity and solar irradiation in Switzerland. Additionally, data on socio-economic and infrastructure data influencing PV adoption is included, such as median income, electricity prices and the total building PV potential, which combines roof and façade usable areas.

The raw data originates from multiple sources, including administrative geospatial data for municipal boundaries and national statistics from official Swiss government bodies.
