Understanding the remarkable spectrum and variability of IRAS 13224-3809
收藏资源简介:
XMM observations have shown that relativisticallybroadened ironK lines andreflection features are common in the spectra of Seyfert 1 galaxies. These offera means to understand the inner working of accreting black holes, which are themost powerful persistent sources in the Universe. Our XMM observation of theNLS1 galaxy 1H0707495 shows broad ironL and K emission which confirm thereflection model. The combination of high soft Xray count rate in the ironLband and long exposure has enabled us to measure Xray reverberation of 30s forthe first time. Here we propose long observations of a similar exceptionalobject, IRAS 132243809, which shows extreme spectral features and variability.Long exposures on such objects enables us to take accreting black hole studies to the next level. truncated!, Please see actual data for full text [truncated!, Please see actual data for full text]
