Postoperative cognitive dysfunction (POCD) is a common neurological complication after anesthesia and surgery among ageing individuals. Neuroinflammation has been identified as hallmark of POCD. However, there is still lack of safe and effective treatment.Primary microglia were isolated and subjected to lipopolysaccharide (LPS), isoflurane and OI. Cognitive function, neuroinflammatory responses, gut microbiota and their metabolites were assessed.
