This study employed a transcriptomic approach to investigate the differential gene expression (DEG) profiles in peripheral blood mononuclear cells of high- and low-yielding animals within and between Gir and Shweta Kapila Indian cows. Overall design: Twelve cows (6 from Gir and 6 from Sweta Kapila), in their second and third lactation, were selected for the study. On the basis of lactation record, individual cows within each breed were classified into high-yielding and low-yielding phenotypes (n=3 each). Total RNA were isolated from peripheral blood mononuclear cells and used for RNA Sequencing using Illumina NovaseqXplus.
