A registered site is a site or “natural monument whose conservation or preservation presents from an artistic, historical, scientific, legendary or picturesque point of view, a general interest”.

Registration is an acknowledgement of the quality of a site justifying monitoring its evolution, in the form of a consultation with the architect of the Bâtiments de France on the works undertaken there.

登记遗址是指遗址或自然纪念物，从艺术、历史、科学、传奇或景观美学的维度考量，其保护工作具备普遍公共价值。
登记流程是对遗址价值的认可，同时亦是对其开展动态监测的依据，具体需就遗址内实施的工程，征询法国建筑与遗产署（Bâtiments de France）建筑师的意见。
