The Tibetan Plateau (TP) profoundly influences the surrounding Asian climate. We investigate the spring-summer impacts of the TP surface heating on the surrounding Asian cloud fraction and surface radiation budget using three numerical experiments conducted by FIO-ESM-2-0 atmospheric-only version. The first experiment is the standard Atmospheric Model Intercomparison Project experiment, which runs with natural and anthropogenic historical forcings and observational sea surface temperatures from 1970 to 2014 supplied by CMIP6. The first experiment is used as the control experiment (CTL). The second experiment cuts off the sensible heating to the atmosphere at elevations above 2500 m in the TP domain via setting the vertical temperature diffusion term to zero in the atmospheric thermodynamic equation at the bottom boundary layer. The third experiment triples the vertical temperature diffusion term above 2500 m in the TP domain relative to the control experiment to consider the TP warming scenario, particularly the future high-emission warming scenario. Other model configurations in the second and third experiments are identical to the control experiment. The second and third experiments are named TPnosh and TP30sh, respectively. The 30-year monthly data from three experiments from 1985 to 2014 are selected and they are listed below. The variable names are listed into the README.txt.
